Rehab Purgatory.

In the Christian religion, purgatory is an intermediate state between physical death and eternal salvation. In terms of rehab, it’s the point in the recovery process from an injury where pain or discomfort still exists, however you are unlikely to cause any further damage to the tissue in question. Typically, at this point, the injured person has graduated from the care of a doctor and is now working with a trained physical therapist on a return to action plan, with the goal of strengthening the damaged tissue or surrounding areas. Eternal salvation in terms of recovering from an injury in this sense, is being pain free. How long it takes the person to get there, determines how long the injured person ends up staying in rehab purgatory.
