Article: Which Type of Squat Machine Is Best for You?

Squatting is one of the most fundamental movements in strength training, but even experienced lifters can struggle with form and execution. I recently contributed to an article for Livestrong called Which Type of Squat Machine Is Best for You? which breaks down different types of squat machines, how they work, and who they might be best suited for.

One of the key takeaways from the article is that squat machines can be a useful tool, but they don’t automatically fix common squat mistakes. Issues like poor depth, improper knee tracking, lack of core engagement, and an overreliance on the quads instead of using the hips and glutes can still occur. Just because a machine offers support does not mean technique should take a backseat.

At AIM Athletic our small group personal training, one on one coaching, and active rehabilitation programs focus on proper squat mechanics to maximize strength gains while reducing injury risk. Whether you are recovering from an injury, looking to build lower body strength, or refining your technique for performance, we emphasize movement quality first. Our hands on coaching ensures that you are not just moving weight but moving efficiently whether that is on a machine, with free weights, or using bodyweight progressions.

If you are unsure whether you are squatting correctly or want to improve your strength and movement patterns, reach out to us at AIM Athletic in Langley BC. Proper coaching makes all the difference.

You've got the info, now it's time to take AIM!
